A Novel Method of Estimating Induction Motor q-axis Leakage Inductance

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2010
The q-axis leakage inductance Ls is always used in the control of induction motor. The parameters generally come from the analysis and calculation of the magnetic field or magnetic path, so some errors are hard to avoid.

Impact of Asymmetrical Leakage Inductance on a 380 V–12 V LLC Converter with Synchronous Rectifier for DC Transformer Application

open access: yesEnergies
High-density 380 V–12 V LLC resonant converters typically employ planar transformers with integrated leakage inductance. To achieve Zero-Voltage Switching (ZVS), an air gap is introduced to adjust the magnetizing inductance (Lm). However, this gap alters

Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

High-Frequency LLC Resonant Converter with GaN Devices and Integrated Magnetics

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In this study, a light emitting diode (LED) driver containing an integrated transformer with adjustable leakage inductance in a high-frequency isolated LLC resonant converter was proposed as an LED lighting power converter.

Mitigation of cross-saturation effects in resonance-based sensorless switched reluctance drives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The stator and rotor yoke in a switched reluctance motor form magnetic circuit parts that are typically shared by different phases. If these parts saturate due to the excitation of one phase, this will lead to a change of the magnetic characteristics of ...

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Study on Winding Inductances in Stator Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Machines

open access: yesEnergies
Winding inductance always plays a key role in the electromagnetic performances of stator surface-mounted permanent magnet (SSPM) machines, including their flux-weakening capability, prospective fault current, power factor, current ripple, etc.

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.
