Leakage-Resilient Storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We study a problem of secure data storage on hardware that may leak information. We introduce a new primitive, that we call leakage-resilient storage (LRS), which is an (unkeyed) scheme for encoding messages, and can be viewed as a generalization of the All-Or-Nothing Transform (AONT, Rivest 1997).

Leakage-Resilient Signatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The strongest standard security notion for digital signature schemes is unforgeability under chosen message attacks. In practice, however, this notion can be insufficient due to “side-channel attacks” which exploit leakage of information about the secret internal state.

Retrofitting Leakage Resilient Authenticated Encryption to Microcontrollers

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems, 2020
The security of Internet of Things (IoT) devices relies on fundamental concepts such as cryptographically protected firmware updates. In this context attackers usually have physical access to a device and therefore side-channel attacks have to be ...

Identity-Based and Leakage-Resilient Broadcast Encryption Scheme for Cloud Storage Service

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Cloud storage services are an important application of cloud computing. An increasing number of data owners store their data on cloud platforms. Since cloud platforms are far away from users, data security and privacy protection are very important issues

Security of the Suffix Keyed Sponge

open access: yesIACR Transactions on Symmetric Cryptology, 2020
We formalize and analyze the general suffix keyed sponge construction, a pseudorandom function built on top of a cryptographic permutation. The construction hashes its data using the (keyless) sponge construction, transforms part of the state using the ...

(In)Security of Ring-LWE Under Partial Key Exposure

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Cryptology, 2020
We initiate the study of partial key exposure in Ring-LWE (RLWE)-based cryptosystems. Specifically, we (1) Introduce the search and decision Leaky R-LWE assumptions (Leaky R-SLWE, Leaky R-DLWE), to formalize the hardness of search/decision RLWE under ...

A Leakage Resilient MAC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We put forward the first practical message authentication code MAC which is provably secure against continuous leakage under the Only Computation Leaks Information OCLI assumption. Within the context of continuous leakage, we introduce a novel modular proof technique: while most previous schemes are proven secure directly in the face of leakage, we ...

Leakage-Resilient Certificate-Based Signature Resistant to Side-Channel Attacks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Certificate-based cryptography is an attractive public-key setting, and it not only simplifies certificate management in the traditional public-key cryptography but also eliminates the key escrow problem inherent in the identity-based cryptography ...

Efficiency Assessment of Resilience Engineering in Process Industries Using Data Envelopment Analysis Based on Type-2 Fuzzy Sets

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Process industries have the talent of emerging high levels of turbulent behaviors and uncertainties, such as the leakage of toxic substances and explosive materials.

Towards a Ring Analogue of the Leftover Hash Lemma

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Cryptology, 2020
The leftover hash lemma (LHL) is used in the analysis of various lattice-based cryptosystems, such as the Regev and Dual-Regev encryption schemes as well as their leakage-resilient counterparts. The LHL does not hold in the ring setting, when the ring is
