RCS of a Microstrip Leaky-Wave Antenna

The monostatic radar cross section (RCS) of a microstrip leaky-wave antenna (MLWA) is investigated. Both full-wave simulation and laboratory measurement are carried out to characterize its RCS as a function of frequency and aspect angle. Three distinct scattering features in the range-aspect plane are observed.

A periodic microstrip leaky-wave antenna

A novel periodic microstrip leaky wave antenna is presented in this letter. The radiation patterns are similar to the conventional MLWA. The measured half-power beamwidth of H-plane radiation patterns are less than 30deg. This design can be a candidate for personal communications and automobiles radar systems.
