The Gut Microbiota and Liver DiseaseSummary

open access: yesCellular and Molecular Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2015
The leaky gut hypothesis links translocating microbial products with the onset and progression of liver disease, and for a long time they were considered one of its major contributors.

Rhoifolin Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis by Targeting NMNAT1 and Activating SIRT1‐FOXO1 Signaling to Enhance ILC3s Effector Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rhoifolin directly targets NMNAT1, thereby activating nicotinamide salvage pathway and promoting intracellular NAD+ biosynthesis. Elevated NAD+ levels enhance SIRT1 activity, leading to FOXO1 deacetylation and nuclear translocation. Nuclear FOXO1 subsequently binds to the IL‐22 promoter, upregulating IL‐22 transcription and potentiating ILC3 effector ...

A pH‐Switchable Cerium Single‐Atom Enzyme for Peri‐Implantitis Therapy via JAK‐STAT Signaling Axis‐Mediated Macrophage Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pH‐switchable cerium single‐atom enzyme is developed for stage‐specific peri‐implantitis therapy. Acidic conditions trigger antibacterial peroxidase‐like activity, whereas neutral conditions activate an antioxidant superoxide dismutase ‐ and catalase ‐like enzymatic relay. This microenvironment‐adaptive catalytic strategy suppresses the IL‐6/JAK‐STAT

Repurposing a Small Molecule Plant Hormone as a Tunable ON‐Switch for CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By engineering a receptor system integrating the plant auxin receptor AFB1 with its co‐receptor IAA7, we enable ligand‐dependent interactions triggered by the plant hormone auxins. This design allows rapid, reversible, and dose‐dependent T cell activation, resulting in potent cytotoxicity against B‐cell lymphoma in vitro and in vivo.

P75 | MICROBIOTA-GUT-BRAIN AXIS IN AN AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER ANIMAL MODEL

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) primarily affects the brain, but it can also promote gastrointestinal damage and gut microbiota alterations (leaky gut).

Maternal Exercise Rescues Embryonic Osteogenesis Impaired due to POLG Mutation Through a Potential Apelin‐ATF4 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Maternal exercise (ME) increases apelin abundance across maternal and fetal tissues and is associated with improved fetal osteogenesis under POLG mutation‐induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Apelin‐APJ signaling is linked to enhanced mitochondrial function, Akt phosphorylation, and ATF4‐RUNX2 association, supporting coordinated fetal bone remodeling ...

Control of lupus nephritis by changes of gut microbiota

open access: yesMicrobiome, 2017
Background Systemic lupus erythematosus, characterized by persistent inflammation, is a complex autoimmune disorder with no known cure. Immunosuppressants used in treatment put patients at a higher risk of infections. New knowledge of disease modulators,

Senkyunolide I Inhibits mtDNA‐cGAS‐STING Signaling in Macrophages via Targeting VDAC1 Oligomerization to Attenuate Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In macrophages, senkyunolide I (SEI) directly targets the K12 residue of VDAC1 to inhibit its stress‐induced oligomerization, a critical upstream event that effectively prevents mitochondrial DNA release and subsequent cGAS‐STING pathway activation.

Highly Sensitive Spatial Host‐Microbiome Transcriptomics in FFPE Tissues via Iterative Hydrogel Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ex‐spRandom is a spatial transcriptomics platform that synergizes random‐primed chemistry with iterative hydrogel expansion. By physically decrowding the dense FFPE matrix, this scalable technology shatters the traditional resolution‐sensitivity barrier.
