Versatile Standing Wave Generation Between Arbitrarily Oriented Surfaces Using Acoustic Metasurface Deflectors and Retroreflectors

A novel method for generating versatile standing wave fields using an acoustic metasurface deflector and retroreflector is introduced. By overcoming traditional constraints of parallel surfaces, the approach enables customizable wave patterns and enhances applications in particle manipulation.

Soft Artificial Ciliary Brush with Integrated Haptic Feedback for Efficient Airway Mucus Cleaning

A fundamental mucus cleaning mechanism is reported, which utilizes both artificial cilia mechanical sweeping and suction‐based mucus cleaning. A novel haptic feedback interface for the artificial cilia provides touch feedback on tissue contact, enhancing operator control and safety.

Scalable High‐Force Zipping Electrostatic Actuators

Advanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An electrostatic actuator architecture is presented that combines high energy density with forces and strokes suited for wearable soft robotics. By folding patterned thin films into a scalable honeycomb of zipping units, performance becomes tunable through series–parallel design, achieving over 40 N and 28 J/kg.
