Leaky modes of a left-handed slab [PDF]
Using complex plane analysis we show that left-handed slab may support either leaky slab waves, which are backward because of negative refraction, or leaky surface waves, which are backward or forward depending on the propagation direction of the surface

Soil moisture has been considered a key variable in governing the terrestrial ecosystem. However, it is challenging to preserve indigenous soil characteristics using conventional soil moisture monitoring methods that require maximum soil contacts.

Collimating Cylindrical Surface Leaky Waves for Highly Improved Radiation Characteristics of Holograms [PDF]
High resolution microwave leaky wave holograms excited by center-fed cylindrical surface wave launcher show a null at object wave direction which is an undesired effect for electromagnetic beamforming.

Detection of coatings within liquid-filled tubes and containers by mode conversion of leaky Lamb waves [PDF]
In this paper, a new acoustic sensor principle for coating detection within liquid-filled tubes and containers based on mode conversion of leaky Lamb waves is introduced.

A Review of Reconfigurable Leaky-Wave Antennas [PDF]
A comprehensive survey of the reconfigurable leaky-wave antennas (LWAs) is made in this paper. Beam-steering and unique radiating features of LWA are highlighted particularly. Therefore, the radiation mechanism of different types of LWA, including uniform, quasi-uniform, periodic, and metamaterial LWAs are discussed in detail.

Mathematical Theory of Leaky Waves in an Anisotropic Waveguide [PDF]
The problem on leaky waves in an anisotropic inhomogeneous dielectric waveguide is considered. This problem is reduced to the boundary eigenvalue problem for longitudinal components of electromagnetic field in Sobolev spaces. To find the solution, we use

Modelling Leaky Waves in Planar Dielectric Waveguides [PDF]
Experimentally observed leaky modes of a dielectric waveguide are characterised by a weak tunnelling of the light through the waveguide and its long-time propagation along the waveguide.

AbstractLeaky waves are complex eigenmodes compatible with radiation in terms of their momentum, which can be supported by open waveguiding structures and can be effective at modeling radiative phenomena from such systems. Here, a “flatland” analog of leaky‐wave radiation is introduced to describe a novel mechanism for in‐plane radiation leakage that ...
