Leaky interface phonons in AlGaAs/GaAs structures
A dispersion equation for the interface waves has been derived for the interface of two cubic crystals in the plane perpendicular to [001]. A reasonable hypothesis has been made about the total number of the acoustic modes.

Gap Waveguide Leaky-Wave Antenna
A novel leaky wave antenna, realized using gap waveguide concept, is here proposed. Both, the feeding structure and the antenna are realized in groove gap waveguide technology, thus simplifying the whole structure. A complete design procedure, starting from a given groove waveguide to the final radiation mechanism, is described in this paper.

Temporally modulated one-dimensional leaky-wave holograms
AbstractSpatio-temporally modulated impedance surfaces can be good candidates for generation of radiating waves with arbitrary eigenstates by breaking momentum and energy conservations. Here, we present a theoretical framework based on the holographic technique and generalized Floquet-wave expansion to analyze spatio-temporally modulated impedance ...

Angular control of anisotropy-induced bound states in the continuum [PDF]
Radiation of leaky modes existing in anisotropic waveguides can be cancelled by destructive interference at special propagation directions relative to the optical axis orientation, resulting in fully bound states surrounded by radiative modes.

Surface leaky waves and their measurement [PDF]
A new approach to experimental identification of surface leaky waves on printed-circuit lines is presented in this paper. Active radiometry is used for field probing even in the near field zone. The measurement is adjusted into the X band.

Advances in the research of seismic-wave leaky modes
When seismic waves propagate in layered structures, dispersion phenomena occur. Based on the characteristics of dispersion curves, underground velocity structures can be estimated.

Dispersion features of complex waves in a graphene-coated semiconductor nanowire
The dispersion features of a graphene-coated semiconductor nanowire operating in the terahertz frequency band are consistently studied in the framework of a special theory of complex waves.

Infragravity Wave Energy Partitioning in the Surf Zone in Response to Wind-Sea and Swell Forcing
An alongshore array of pressure sensors and a cross-shore array of current velocity and pressure sensors were deployed on a barred beach in southwestern Australia to estimate the relative response of edge waves and leaky waves to variable incident wind ...

Leaky wave antenna for millimeter wave utilization
Abstract The simulation of planar periodic leaky-wave antenna for ultra-wideband application is introduced here. The antenna proposed here comprises 15 matched unit cells with high directivity which provides a backward to forward beam scanning range of 80° with frequency from 24.4GHz to 27.5GHz and has filtering capability making the ...
