Analyzing the Factors Enabling Green Lean Six Sigma Implementation in the Industry 4.0 Era

open access: yesSustainability, 2022
Green Lean Six Sigma has emerged in the Industry 4.0 era as a business strategy contributing to the circular economy by adopting the 3R concept, i.e., reduce, reuse, and recycle. Despite its broadly acknowledged capabilities in the manufacturing industry,

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Comparative Analysis of Lean and Six Sigma in Building Construction: Benefits, Obstacles and Opportunities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Lean and Six Sigma have been recognized as innovative strategies that can be used to transform a firm’s management practices to a newer level. However, there is little guidance, or evidence indicating whether Lean or Six Sigma enhance the construction ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Lean Six Sigma in Healthcare: A Systematic Literature Review on Motivations and Benefits

open access: yesProcesses, 2022
While Lean Six Sigma (LSS) has been applied extensively in healthcare organisations, there has been limited research on the trends of LSS application in healthcare in recent years.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Lean Six Sigma in Healthcare: A Systematic Literature Review on Challenges, Organisational Readiness and Critical Success Factors

open access: yesProcesses, 2022
Lean Six Sigma (LSS) has been applied in many healthcare organisations, but there has been limited research on the evolution of LSS application in healthcare.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
