Modeling Dislocation Cutting of γ′ Precipitates in Ni‐Base Superalloys: Linking Atomistic and Dislocation Dynamics Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocation cutting of γ′ precipitates in Ni‐based superalloys is investigated by linking atomistic simulations with discrete dislocation dynamics. The critical cutting stress is shown to be governed by the antiphase boundary energy, while line tension effects promote edge‐preferred cutting.

The Teaching-Learning Process or the Teaching Process and the Learning Process

Culture & Psychology, 2022
Education in school is conceived from the teaching-learning process where the teacher, student, and group intervene as personal components. In the first part of the article, evidence is shown that this process is not a dialectical interrelation. Later it is demonstrated that this process exists under certain conditions that are explained from the ...

Process Control with Learning

Operations Research, 1994
We study the control of a production process which moves at a random time from an in-control state to an out-of-control state where an increased number of defective units is produced. After each unit is produced, a decision maker has three choices: continue production, invest in routine maintenance that restores the process to control, and invest in a

Assessment of the Learning Process

Exceptional Children, 1986
In an effort to help reconceptualize current approaches to assessing children with learning problems, this article proposes the use of techniques derived from recent work in cognitive psychology. Proposed as a modification of current assessment practice, Process Assessment is a model which emphasizes intervention, the environment, and the learning ...

Learning about the Learning Process

2011
This work addresses the problem of mining data stream generated in dynamic environments where the distribution underlying the observations may change over time. We present a system that monitors the evolution of the learning process. The system is able to self-diagnosis degradations of this process, using change detection mechanisms, and self-repairs ...

Machine learning insights on the learning process

Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality, 2016
This paper reports the insights obtained during an experience on eight courses in fields of diverse nature. A methodology based on data visualization supported by multidimensional scaling is presented. These techniques might be useful for instructors interested in identifying those factors with larger impact on the learning-teaching process.

INTEGRATION AND LEARNING PROCESS

1992
Integration is often considered as an ideal organizational means to cope with a changing environment. Our paper is an attempt first to explain the context in which integrated manufacturing appears and second to develop an analysis of the integration process itself.
