Localization of Spatiotemporally Heterogeneous Subsurface Flows Using Autoencoder‐Based Deep Learning Framework for Time‐Lapse Self‐Potential Tomography

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 3, June 2026.
Abstract Self‐potential (SP) monitoring has emerged as a valuable method for characterizing subsurface hydrogeological features and processes due to its sensitivity to fluid‐induced electrokinetic effects. Despite advancements in SP inversion, challenges remain in imaging groundwater dynamics from SP activities due to complex hydrological settings and ...

Buoy Observations of Ocean Swell Propagation Across the Pacific Ocean

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract A network of more than 300 drifting wave buoys is used to study the propagation of ocean swell across the Pacific Ocean. Swell events are identified at buoys in the Equatorial region and then tracked along Great Circle propagation paths both forward and backward in time.

Laurasian Seaway History During the Early Jurassic From Quantitative Mineralogy and Detrital Zircon Dating

open access: yesPaleoceanography and Paleoclimatology, Volume 41, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract The Laurasian Seaway comprises a N‐S oriented trans‐Pangaean corridor linking Tethys to the Boreal Sea during the Jurassic, and direction of water flow has been the subject of considerable debate. The Llanbedr (Mochras Farm) borehole, Cardigan Bay Basin, Wales, is a uniquely informative record that comprises an expanded deep‐marine silty ...

Calibration and Fusion of GOLD‐Inferred TEC Data With Ground‐Based TEC

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Ground‐based Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers provide primary total electron content (TEC) measurements used to monitor ionospheric variability, yet their sparse distribution over oceanic and equatorial regions limits global coverage and model accuracy.

Lexical inference training for homonyms: Two randomized controlled trials for children with English as a first and an additional language

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Psychology, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 875-895, June 2026.
Abstract Background Many words have multiple meanings, which present challenges to learning, yet research has yet to identify effective interventions for homonyms. Lexical inference may be a promising strategy. Aim To evaluate a brief, novel lexical inference intervention for homonyms. Samples Children aged 7–8 years (Study 1: N = 180, Study 2: N = 76).
