Activation of ERBB4 Pathway Inhibits Pathological Transdifferentiation of Lung Epithelial Progenitors into CD66c+ Basal Cells in Severe Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In fibrotic distal lung regions, CD66c+ basal cells emerge as a pathological state. Using human distal lung organoids, this study identifies CD66c+ basal cells as a pro‐fibrotic state arising through transdifferentiation from secretory, AT2, and basal cells.

A crossvalidation-based comparison of kriging and IDW in local GNSS/levelling quasigeoid modelling

open access: yesReports on Geodesy and Geoinformatics, 2022
This study compares two interpolation methods in the problem of a local GNSS/levelling (quasi) geoid modelling. It uses raw data, no global geopotential model is involved.

Least-squares spectral collocation for discontinuous and singular perturbation problems

open access: yes, 2003
A least-squares spectral collocation scheme for discontinuous problems is proposed. For the first derivative operator the domain is decomposed in subintervals where the jumps are imposed at the discontinuities.

Topology‐Enriched Toughness Enhancement in Quasi‐Periodic Metastructures Featuring Tailorable Strong‐Weak Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A quasi‐periodic Dart‐Kite (QDK) metastructure with a golden‐ratio‐constrained strong–weak bond network simultaneously enhances strength, toughness, and damage tolerance. Its distributed topology enables predictable, tailorable crack paths for precise fracture control and stable mechanics, demonstrating a high‐performance, controllable architecture ...

Approximated Solution of Higher–Order Linear Fredholm Integro–Differential Equations by Computing of Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2010
Our main concern here is to give an approximate scheme to solve a linearFredholm integro–differential equations of higher–order (LFIDE) using expansion method with the expansion functions as basis functions associated with weighted residual technique ...

Convergence analysis of least-squares collocation methods for nonlinear higher-index differential–algebraic equations

open access: yes, 2021
We approach a direct numerical treatment of nonlinear higher-index differential–algebraic equations by means of overdetermined polynomial least-squares collocation.

Mapping the Innovation DNA of Agribusiness Firms: A Multi‐Method Analysis of Strategic Capabilities and Performance

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innovation is essential for competitiveness in agribusiness facing dynamic environments. This study examines how market orientation, marketing, relational, and social capabilities influence innovation performance. Using data from 751 Spanish firms and a multi‐method approach that integrates Structural Equation Modeling (PLS‐SEM), Necessary ...

Analysis of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices by the meshless point weighted least-squares method

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, the characteristics of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices are analyzed by a meshless method—point weighted least-squares (PWLS) method. In the present meshless method, field nodes and collocation points are adopted.

Interaction of FXTAS Family History and College Degree Attainment Predicts Trajectories of Cognitive and Motor Symptoms in FMR1 Premutation Carrier Women

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present longitudinal study focuses on FMR1 premutation carrier women during midlife and early old age (n = 115). Bringing together the genetic risk factor of a family history of FXTAS and the environmental protective factor of higher education, the goal of the study was to determine how these factors potentially interact to predict self ...

Development of a new meshless — point weighted least-squares (PWLS) method for computational mechanics

open access: yes, 2004
A truly meshless approach, point weighted least-squares (PWLS) method, is developed in this paper. In the present PWLS method, two sets of distributed points are adopted, i.e. fields node and collocation point.
