Asymptotics of Least Trimmed Squares Regression [PDF]
High breakdown-point regression estimators protect against large errors both in explanatory and dependent variables. The least trimmed squares (LTS) estimator is one of frequently used, easily understandable, and thoroughly studied (from the robustness ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Sensitivity Analysis of SAR Estimators: A Simulation Study [PDF]
Spatial autoregressive models come with a variety of estimators and it is interesting and useful to compare the estimators by location and covariance properties.

NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Equivariant adjusted least squares estimator in two-line fitting model
We consider the two-line fitting problem. True points lie on two straight lines and are observed with Gaussian perturbations. For each observed point, it is not known on which line the corresponding true point lies.

KDAC6 has been associated with cell motility and actin structures, but specific domain contributions are not established. The two catalytic domains have differential effects on motility and F‐actin regulation, affecting cortical F‐actin density, motility, stress fibers, and cell spreading.

Overview of total least squares methods
We review the development and extensions of the classical total least squares method and describe algorithms for its generalization to weighted and structured approximation problems.

Universal Inadmissibility of Least Squares Estimator
Let \(X\) be distributed according to a \(p\)-variate normal distribution with mean vector \(\theta\) and covariance matrix \(I\). To estimate \(\theta= (\theta_1,\dots, \theta_p)'\) the losses are taken to be \[ L([\sum_{i=1}^p q_i (\theta_i\cdot d_i)^2 ]^{1/2}),\quad \text{where} q_1\geq q_2\geq\dots\geq q_p> 0 \] are known and \(L(y)\) is a ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...
