Fight song: variation in singing behaviour and song structure during natural agonistic interactions in a tropical songbird, Adelaide's Warbler (Setophaga adelaidae)

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Birds may use their singing behaviours and song structure as agonistic signals in territorial encounters. We conducted an observational study to test this hypothesis in male Adelaide's Warblers Setophaga adelaidae, a tropical songbird that defends a territory year‐round.

Fractional vortex in asymmetric 0-$\pi$ long Josephson junctions

open access: yes, 2013
We consider an infinitely long 0-$\pi$ Josephson junction consisting of 0 and $\pi$ regions having different critical current densities $j_{c,0}$ and $j_{c,\pi}$.

The impact of green roof ageing on substrate characteristics and hydrological performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Green roofs contribute to stormwater management through the retention of rainfall and the detention of runoff. However, there is very limited knowledge concerning the evolution of green roof hydrological performance with system age. This study presents a

LecA (PA-IL): A Galactose-Binding Lectin from Pseudomonas aeruginosa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
LecA/PA-IL (Pfam PF07828) is a soluble galactose-binding lectin from bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The lectin is specific for α-galactose present on glycosphingolipids of the globoside family and has therefore been proposed to play a role in cell adhesion and in internalization of bacteria in epithelial cells.

Genomic rearrangements and functional diversification of lecA and lecB lectin-coding regions impacting the efficacy of glycomimetics directed against Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
LecA and LecB tetrameric lectins take part in oligosaccharide-mediated adhesion-processes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Glycomimetics have been designed to block these interactions. The great versatility of P.
