Mixed lineage kinase 3 mediates SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury via the Hsp70‐IL‐17A axis

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Kidney samples from patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2) showed upregulated expression and activity of Mixed Lineage Kinase (MLK3). Based on the mechanistic studies, we identified MLK3 as a critical player in promoting SARS‐CoV‐2‐induced kidney injury.

Safety Assessment and Hypoglycemic Effect of Moringa oleifera Lam. Seed Lectin (WSMoL) in Alloxan‐Induced Diabetic Mice

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Moringa oleifera Lam. seeds contain WSMoL, a lectin previously studied for toxicity and pharmacological effects. In this study, we investigated WSMoL (10, 25, or 50 mg/kg i.p.) for acute and 14‐day repeated‐dose toxicity, as well as genotoxicity, in Swiss mice.

Single‐Cell Profiling Identifies CLEC5A+ Macrophages as Key Drivers of Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Via CCL5‐Mediated M1 Polarization

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Thoracic aortic aneurysm (TAA) is a life‐threatening cardiovascular disease with limited therapeutic options. Through single‐cell RNA sequencing of aortic tissues from healthy individuals and TAA patients (105,541 cells), we identified CLEC5A+macrophages as the predominant pathogenic cell population exhibiting the highest M1 polarization score. Association Between Multi‐Laboratory Parameters Pre‐ and Post‐Treatment and Pathological Features and Their Values in Clinical Decision in Primary Hepatic Carcinoma

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Primary hepatic cancer (PHC), especially hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is still a significant burden worldwide. The efficacy of diagnosis, treatment response monitoring, and prognostication using laboratory biomarkers is still a challenge. This study analyzed multi‐laboratory parameters pre‐ and post‐treatment and their associations with clinical and

Salt‐induced nutritional and metabolic shifts in halophytes: implications for food security

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract Plant species vary in their response to salinity: some crops show a degree of salt tolerance, while halophytes – whether wild or cultivated – are characterized by a high capacity to thrive under saline conditions. Halophytes are considered a source of valuable secondary metabolites with potential economic value, yet they might also produce ...
