Multi‐Dielectric Metasurfaces for Ultrabright, Tunable Structural Color and Reconfigurable Optical Filtering with Extraordinarily Large Color Span

Structural color generation is an emerging field for digital display and printing applications. This report presents a novel truncated‐cone design and the first use of GaP sandwiched between two layers of TiO2, demonstrating ultra‐bright, tunable colors with a record color gamut.

Turn Broad Into Narrow: Understanding the Pr3+ → Gd3+ Energy Transfer in Cs2NaYCl6

The energy transfer processes of Pr3+ in elpasolite‐like Cs2NaY1‐xGdxCl6: 1mol%$1 \,\mathrm{mol}\%$ Pr3+ is investigated by steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopy. An analysis of the multiexponential decays in the framework of the shell model of energy transfer suggests an occupation of both the Y and Na sites by Pr3+ in this host.

Luminescence and Photochromism in Lanthanide‐Doped Hackmanites

Lanthanide‐doped lithium hackmanite derivatives are prepared utilizing a doped LiAlSiO4 precursor to modify luminescent and photochromic properties. Upon UV excitation, europium doping results in green Eu2+ persistent luminescence from shallow traps. Contrarily, samarium doping induces unusual near‐infrared photochromism.

Thermo‐Derived Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Elastomer Pattern with Composite Structural Colors

A thermochromic cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) oligomer was synthesized for the preparation of CLC elastomer (CLCE) films with dual reflection bands. Subsequently, a CLCE pattern with composite structural colors was prepared, which was suitably applied for decoration and anti‐counterfeiting.
