[The leech therapy of infectious myocarditis].

The novelty of the work consists in application of hirudotherapy (leeches) to treat infectious myocarditis, which therapy has been embarked on for the first time in the treatment of this medical condition. Coagulation methods used by the author are modern, the methodical approach is adequate. The role of hirudotherapy versus heparin therapy is shown.

Selective Inhibition of Integrin β3 Topology Provides a Safer Antithrombotic Strategy

Current integrin αIIbβ3 inhibitors effectively reduce thrombosis but also increase bleeding risk. During thrombosis, high shear blood flow can directly activate the integrin αIIbβ3 via a distinct topological change in the β3 transmembrane domain, independent of hemostatic platelet signaling.
