Cat’s Grave of the Golden Horde Time in a Kurgan on the Left Bank of the Lower Dniester

Archaeology and Cultural AnthropologyThe article publishes for the first time the findings of three structures from the time of the Golden Horde, which were studied in 2019 at kurgan 1 of the “Plavni” group near the village of Glinoe. Two of these structures (burials no. 8 and 20) were pits with ledges, while the third one (pit no. 1) was a round pit.

Scythian Barrow of the Second Half of the 6th Century BC on the Left Bank of the Lower Dniester

Archaeology and Cultural AnthropologyThe article introduces and analyzes the findings from the study of Scythian burial 6 in barrow 8 of the “North” group near Glinoe village on the left bank of the Lower Dniester. The burial mound was constructed over the main cremated Scythian grave in a square pit, oriented with its angles to the cardinal directions.

The studied graves can be attributed to the Dnieper-Prut Babino and Sabatinvka cultures.

The contents of seven vessels from burials of the Yamnaya cultural and historical community (2 vessels), the Dnieper-Prut Babino culture (4 vessels), and the Sabatinovka horizon (1 vessel) were studied. Two samples (from the bottom and upper parts) were analyzed for each vessel using the spore-pollen method.
