Left Ventricular Mass in Diabetic Patients

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2004
Background: The increased left ventricular mass (LVM) is a strong risk factor for cardiac mortality. Although the relationship between diabetes mellitus (DM) and LVM in adults is established, it is not universally accepted in young diabetic patients.

Features of left ventricular remodeling in hypertension patients with comorbid gout

open access: yesZaporožskij Medicinskij Žurnal, 2018
Gout is the most common cause of inflammatory arthritis in men elder than 30 years. The association of gout with hypertension is up to 80 % of cases. Study of cardiovascular system remodeling is very relevant. Aim.

Inhibition of Phosphodiesterase 10A by MP‐10 Rescues Behavioral Deficits and Normalizes Microglial Morphology and Synaptic Pruning in A Mouse Model of FOXP1 Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that Foxp1± mice, modeling FOXP1 haploinsufficiency, exhibit behavioral deficits, striatal neuroinflammatory changes including altered microglial complexity and synaptic pruning, and markedly reduced Pde10a expression. Pde10a inhibition starting immediately after birth restores Foxp1± behavior, microglial morphology, and pruning ...

Diagnostic Value of Electrocardiography Compared with Echocardiography in Measuring Left Ventricular Mass Index in Major Thalassemia Patients Over 10 Years of Age

open access: yesJournal of Tehran University Heart Center, 2015
Background: Patients suffering from major beta thalassemia need frequent blood transfusions and, if not treated well, would be at risk of heart dysfunction.

Third Trimester Fetal Cardiac Blood Flow and Cardiac Outcomes in School‐Age Children Assessed By Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2019
Background An adverse fetal environment leads to fetal hemodynamic adaptations with cardiac flow alterations that may subsequently affect cardiac development.

PFKM‐Driven Lactate Overproduction Promotes Atrial Fibrillation via Triggering Cardiac Fibroblasts Histone Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The upregulation of PFKM activates glycolysis, thereby enhancing lactate production in atrial tissue. Atrial lactate accumulation promotes global lactylation and H3K18 lactylation in atrial fibroblasts. P300‐mediated H3K18 lactylation up‐regulates TGF‐β1 transcription, leading to fibroblast activation and thereby contributing to atrial fibrosis.

Cardiac Remodeling from Middle Age to Senescence

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2017
Background: The data on cardiac remodeling outside the scope of myocardial infarction and heart failure are limited. Methods: A cohort of middle-aged hypertensive subjects with age- and gender-matched control subjects without hypertension (n = 1,045, aged

Gut Metabolite Indole‐3‐Propionic Acid Regulates Macrophage Autophagy Through PPT1 Inhibiting Aging‐Related Myocardial Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IPA is an intestinal tryptophan metabolite whose effects decline with decreased heart function. Supplementing IPA can alleviate the aging‐related myocardial fibrosis through PPT1. PPT1 is a key protein localized to lysosomes, and IPA can restore macrophage autophagy function by regulating PPT1 expresssions, thereby reducing aging‐related myocardial ...

Normative reference ranges for echocardiographic chamber dimensions in a healthy Central European population: results from the Czech post-MONICA survey

open access: yesCardiovascular Ultrasound, 2019
Background Normative reference values for echocardiographic chamber quantification are of great importance; however, this can be challenging. Our aim was to derive these values including degrees of abnormality from a random Central European population ...
