Korelasi Antara Tekanan Darah Dan Indeks Massa Ventrikel Kiri (Left Ventricular Mass Index) Pada Penderita Hipertensi Di Rsup Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
: Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is target organ damage of cardiac with high prevalence in patients with hypertension. Increase of left ventricular mass was caused by increase in wall thickness as compensatory mechanism to minimize wall stress in ...

Association of acculturation with cardiac structure and function among Hispanics/Latinos: a cross-sectional analysis of the echocardiographic study of Latinos. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
OBJECTIVE:Hispanics/Latinos, the largest immigrant population in the USA, undergo the process of acculturation and have a large burden of heart failure risk.

Irisin Attenuates Pulmonary Vascular Remodeling in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension via Ubiquitin‐Mediated Regulation of ENO1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Irisin is a crucial plasma biomarker and promising therapeutic target that reflects disease severity, pulmonary vascular remodeling status and clinical outcome in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). As a novel protective factor, irisin is downregulated in PAH. By ubiquitination, irisin promotes Enolase 1 degradation and suppresses cell

Effect of haematocrit on echocardiographic indices of cardiac dimension in sickle cell anaemia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Medicine and Health Development, 2011
Background: Several mechanisms have been put forward to explain myocardial dysfunction in sickle cell anaemia. Aims and objectives: This study was aimed at examining the effect of haematocrit parameters on echocardiographic indices of cardiac dimension ...

Changes in left atrial deformation in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: Evaluation by vector velocity imaging. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
OBJECTIVES: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) represents a generalized myopathic process affecting both ventricular and atrial myocardium. We assessed the global and regional left atrial (LA) function and its relation to left ventricular (LV) mechanics ...

Inhibition of Phosphodiesterase 10A by MP‐10 Rescues Behavioral Deficits and Normalizes Microglial Morphology and Synaptic Pruning in A Mouse Model of FOXP1 Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that Foxp1± mice, modeling FOXP1 haploinsufficiency, exhibit behavioral deficits, striatal neuroinflammatory changes including altered microglial complexity and synaptic pruning, and markedly reduced Pde10a expression. Pde10a inhibition starting immediately after birth restores Foxp1± behavior, microglial morphology, and pruning ...

Effect of a reduction in glomerular filtration rate after nephrectomy on arterial stiffness and central hemodynamics: rationale and design of the EARNEST study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: There is strong evidence of an association between chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cardiovascular disease. To date, however, proof that a reduction in glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is a causative factor in cardiovascular disease is ...

PFKM‐Driven Lactate Overproduction Promotes Atrial Fibrillation via Triggering Cardiac Fibroblasts Histone Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The upregulation of PFKM activates glycolysis, thereby enhancing lactate production in atrial tissue. Atrial lactate accumulation promotes global lactylation and H3K18 lactylation in atrial fibroblasts. P300‐mediated H3K18 lactylation up‐regulates TGF‐β1 transcription, leading to fibroblast activation and thereby contributing to atrial fibrosis.

Cardiac magnetic resonance findings predict increased resource utilization in elective coronary artery bypass grafting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Morbidity following CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting) is difficult to predict and leads to increased healthcare costs. We hypothesized that pre-operative CMR (cardiac magnetic resonance) findings would predict resource utilization in elective CABG ...
