Clinical and Echocardiographic Findings of Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction Among Hypertensive Patients at Muhimbili National Hospital, Dar es Salaam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Hypertension is the commonest of the cardiovascular risk factors, whose prevalence in Tanzania is high between 20-30%, among rural and urban residents respectively.

Left bundle branch area pacing induced dual bundle branches non-reentrant bigeminy and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
A 76-year-old woman with intermittent advanced atrioventricular block from a previous left septal accessory pathway and atrioventricular (AV) nodal slow pathway ablation for supraventricular tachycardia was referred for pacing.

Coronary Flow in Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy—Immediate Effects of Alcohol Septal Ablation

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 108, Issue 4, Page 1344-1353, October 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is associated with alterations in coronary microvascular function which have variable pathophysiologic mechanisms, and variable reversibility acutely and chronically following alcohol septal ablation (ASA).

Right ventricular septal pacing as alternative for failed left ventricular lead implantation in cardiac resynchronization therapy candidates

open access: yes, 2015
To compare the effects on left ventricular (LV) function of right ventricular (RV) septal pacing vs. cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in patients with an indication for the latter.

Effects of right ventricular pacing on left ventricular ejection fraction in a pacemaker clinic

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this study was to evaluate whether a change of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) depending on percentage of right ventricular pacing is found in a real-life setting of a pacemaker ...

Procedural Efficiency and Clinical Outcomes of a Region‐Specific Radiofrequency Ablation Strategy for Pulmonary Vein Isolation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Graphical summary of a region‐specific radiofrequency ablation strategy for pulmonary vein isolation. Anatomically tailored energy delivery was associated with improved procedural efficiency, with no detected difference in first‐pass isolation or 12‐month arrhythmia recurrence compared with conventional ablation index‐guided ablation.

Clinical Characteristics and Timing of Accessory Pathway Reconduction During Catheter Ablation of Accessory Pathways

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Intra‐procedural accessory pathway reconduction occurred in 18% of patients, with 65.2% of events detected ≥ 15 min after initial pathway elimination. Reconduction was associated with a higher rate of late recurrence, supporting careful assessment for conduction recovery during the post‐ablation waiting period.

Multimodality Imaging‐Guided Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in Cor Triatriatum Sinister

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Multimodality imaging facilitated safe transseptal access and catheter navigation in a patient with cor triatriatum sinister. CARTO‐integrated VARIPULSE pulsed‐field ablation achieved pulmonary vein isolation without complications, demonstrating a feasible treatment strategy for atrial fibrillation in complex congenital left atrial anatomy.
