Biomarkers of ventricular remodelling in African hypertensives. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Includes abstract.Includes bibliographical references. There is substantial evidence that the burden of hypertension, hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy and hypertensive heart failure is very enormous in sub-Saharan Africa.

Bradycardia‐Dependent Elevation of Atrial Pacing Threshold Mimicking Lead Failure Early After Pacemaker Implantation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Atrial pacing failure after pacemaker implantation does not always indicate lead malfunction. Non‐invasive assessment can identify the underlying cause and may avoid unnecessary lead revision.

Is Left Bundle Branch Pacing Feasible in Patients With Ventricular Septal Defect?

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology
His bundle typically passes through the central fibrous body of the atrioventricular node and then enters the membranous portion of the interventricular septum, where it branches into the left and right bundle branches. The feasibility and safety of left

Successful Bailout Retrieval of an Active‐Fixation Atrial Leadless Pacemaker Following Suspected Tissue Entrapment During Repositioning

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
(A) Unscrewing of AVEIR AR. (B) After unscrewing, the device appeared to be trapped with the stretched helix. (C) Successful retrieval was achieved by fully covering the device. (D) The retrieved device demonstrated the stretched helix. ABSTRACT An 81‐year‐old woman with a medical history of mechanical mitral valve replacement, Maze procedure, and ...

Pulsed‐Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return With Right Atrial Drainage of Both Right Pulmonary Veins

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Pulsed‐field ablation was safely performed in a patient with atrial fibrillation and partial anomalous pulmonary venous return. Electroanatomical mapping defined the sinus node region and confirmed sufficient distance from anomalous right pulmonary vein ablation sites, enabling successful isolation.

Left bundle fascicular versus left bundle trunk pacing: A comparison of their electrical synchrony parameters

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal
Background: Variation in human left bundle branch (LBB) anatomy has a significant effect on the sequence of left ventricular depolarization. However, little is known regarding the electrophysiological characteristics of pacing different LBB fascicles ...

Leadless Atrial Pacemaker Implantation at a Nonstandard Site After Unsuccessful Conventional Atrial Placement

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
After unsuccessful implantation at the conventional right atrial appendage site, an atrial leadless pacemaker was implanted at the high right atrial septum. Electrical parameters were maintained during 6‐month follow‐up.

Coexistence of Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia and Idiopathic Left Ventricular Outflow-Tract Tachycardia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Double tachycardia is a relatively rare condition. We describe a 21 year old woman with history of frequent palpitations. In one of these episodes, she had wide complex tachycardia with right bundle branch and inferior axis morphology.

The impact of right ventricular lead position on outcomes in cardiac resynchronization therapy patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundThe effect of right ventricular (RV) lead position on the response to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) remains unclear. We evaluated the effects of different RV lead positions on electrophysiology, echocardiography, and clinical outcomes.

Substrate‐Based Ablation Guided by Combined Fractionation and Frequency Analysis for Multiple and Unmappable Ventricular Tachycardias

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Stepwise evaluation of fractionation and peak frequency maps on substrate mapping identified VT‐related substrate regions in a patient with multiple ventricular tachycardias. This complementary substrate‐based approach may help guide ablation when complete circuit characterization is challenging.
