A Tensor Framework for Multi-Linear Complex MMSE Estimation

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Signal Processing, 2021
Tensors are higher order generalization of vectors and matrices which can be used to describe signals indexed by more than two indices. This paper introduces a tensor framework for minimum mean square error (MMSE) estimation for multi-domain signals and ...

Omeprazole as a Novel Treatment Option for Giardiasis in Cats

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
In this study, cats with giardiasis were allocated to omeprazole, metronidazole, secnidazole or placebo groups and monitored from day 0 to 14. Omeprazole achieved a reduction in Giardia cyst shedding comparable to metronidazole and also demonstrated faster clinical improvement, indicating a potential therapeutic advantage.

Performance of five common soil moisture sensors using default calibration equations in low‐salinity conditions

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, Volume 25, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
Abstract Soil moisture monitoring plays a critical role in water resource management, hydrological modeling, and climate studies, making sensor accuracy and reliability increasingly important. This study evaluates the performance of five soil moisture sensors—the CS655, HydraProbe, TDR‐315N, TEROS 12, and ThetaProbe—using their default calibrations ...

People have different expectations for their own versus others' use of AI‐mediated communication tools

open access: yesBritish Journal of Psychology, Volume 117, Issue 2, Page 548-566, May 2026.
Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance human communication, for example, by improving the quality of our writing, voice or appearance. However, AI mediated communication also has risks—it may increase deception, compromise authenticity or yield widespread mistrust. As a result, both policymakers and technology firms are developing approaches

Restoration tools and strategies for afforested Mediterranean coastal grasslands: is eucalypt removal alone enough to kickstart ecosystem recovery?

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 4, May 2026.
Abstract Introduction Afforestation with non‐native trees has profoundly altered coastal dune grasslands worldwide, creating persistent ecological legacies that constrain ecosystem recovery. Objectives We evaluated the cost‐effectiveness of two restoration approaches, distinguished by their respective demands for resource investment: Moderately ...

Sudden borders in the north: Regional resilience and nationalism in the Torne Valley during COVID‐19

open access: yesNations and Nationalism, Volume 32, Issue 2, Page 535-551, April 2026.
Abstract The Torne Valley used to be described as one of the most peaceful and most integrated border areas in the world. Translating the field

open access: yesThe Australian Journal of Anthropology, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 64-76, April 2026.
Abstract Ethnographers observe and engage the field. They live with, play with, eat with, dance with, feel with, and, increasingly, write or film with their interlocutors. But most of all, they listen and converse. As they enter the lingual ecology of their hosts through a range of practices of communication, ethnographers begin a multi‐faceted journey
