Revision rates are similar after surgical treatment of acute chondral and osteochondral injuries following patellar dislocation: A multicentre cohort study

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Optimal treatment strategies for (osteo‐)chondral injuries following patellar dislocation remain unclear. This retrospective multicentre study aimed to compare outcomes between chondral and osteochondral lesions and to explore factors associated with revision surgery.

Multi‐Method Investigation of Intergranular Corrosion of the Aluminium Alloy EN AW‐2024 With Different Cooling Rates After Solution Heat Treatment—Metallography and Eddy Current Testing

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
The corrosion resistance of heat‐treatable aluminium alloys depends directly on the applied heat treatment. This article discusses the relationship between cooling rate and intergranular corrosion sensitivity. The intergranular corrosion depths were determined by light microscopy of cross‐sections and correlated with both non‐destructive eddy current ...

A Two‐Stage Optimization Approach for Selecting Electric‐Flight Airports

open access: yesNetworks, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The decarbonization of short‐haul air transport has gained increasing attention, with electric aircraft emerging as a promising alternative to conventional short‐haul aviation. However, given the substantial investment anticipated for the necessary infrastructure, a strategic and globally coordinated selection of airports is imperative.

Seed co‐occurrence caused by shared frugivores leaves a long‐lasting signal in the spatial co‐occurrence among plants

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
By dispersing seeds, frugivorous animals affect spatial co‐occurrence of plants, ultimately influencing plant community dynamics. Frugivorous animals are intrinsically involved in plant community dynamics, by dispersing seeds of fleshy‐fruited plants and influencing their spatial co‐occurrence.

Trait‐associated pathway links plant diversity to litterfall phenology in a seasonally dry tropical forest

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Phenology plays a central role in regulating energy flow and nutrient cycling, yet remains insufficiently integrated into biodiversity–ecosystem functioning frameworks. This gap is especially relevant in strongly seasonal systems, where community‐wide synchrony in leaf litterfall may arise from either temporal niche differentiation among species or ...

Engaging the public in plant science: Communication facilitators and barriers of scaling up a citizen science campaign

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Volunteers have been involved in nature observations for decades through citizen science initiatives, providing large data sets as well as problem identification that allow a more complete understanding of many natural phenomena. Although communication is a core component in citizen science, the key factors that determine its effectiveness in ...
