Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.Organo‐functionalized molecular molybdenum sulfides were synthesized using bidentate N‐donor ligands and investigated as light‐driven homogeneous hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts. Trends observed in the HER activity of these catalysts were elucidated by combining photophysical, electrochemical and computational studies.
