Lengths, length-length relationships and condition factor of Indian catfish Gagata cenia (Hamilton, 1822) in the Padma River, Bangladesh

open access: yesJournal of Fisheries, 2013
This study described some biological parameters including lengths, length-length relationships and Fulton’s condition factors of Gagata cenia in the Padma River of Bangladesh, based on 1120 specimens collected from May to November, 2012.

Morphometric and meristic characteristics of pabda catfish (Ompok pabda) reared in biofloc and traditional culture system

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries
This study analysed morphometric and meristic characteristics of Ompok pabda from two distinct culture systems, namely biofloc and traditional. Fish samples (90 days old) collected from both culture systems were reared in indoor tanks.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Morphometric Traits, Length–Weight Dynamics and Condition Indices of Invasive Vermiculated Sailfin Catfish (Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus) in Bangladesh: Management Implications

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries
The vermiculated sailfin catfish (Pterygoplichthys disjunctivus), an invasive species, has rapidly proliferated in Bangladesh's freshwater ecosystems, threatening native biodiversity.

Reproductive Biology of Bogue, Boops boops Linneaus, 1758 in the Aegean Sea and Sea of Marmara, Türkiye

open access: yesAquatic Sciences and Engineering
Bogue (Boops boops Linnaeus, 1758) is one of the most economic and common species in Türkiye. The bogue individuals were obtained monthly from the commercial catches of gillnet fisheries from May to August 2024 and purse seine fisheries from September ...

Length-Weight Relationships of two Clupeonella species (Clupeidae) from Northwestern Turkey

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Bioscience and Collections, 2020
The length-weight relationships (LWRs) of Clupeonella cultriventris and Clupeonella muhlisi were analysed. Fish samples were collected gill nets (10 mm mesh sized) from the Büyükçekmece Reservoir and Küçükçekmece Lagoon April and June 2016.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Condition factor of Astyanax intermedius Eigenmann, 1908 (OSTEICHTHYES, CHARACIDAE) parasitised by Paracymothoa astyanaxi Lemos de Castro, 1955 (CRUSTACEA, CYMOTHOIDAE) in the Grande River, Serra do Mar State Park - Santa Virgínia Unit, São Paulo, Brazil

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
In this work the length-weight relationship and the condition factor of Astyanax intermedius parasitised and not by Paracymothoa astyanaxi were analysed in the Grande River.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
