Length-length, Length–weight, and Weight-weight Relationships of Yellowfin (Thunnus Albacares) and Bigeye (Thunnus Obesus) Tuna Collected From the Commercial Handlines Fisheries in the South China Sea

open access: yesThalassas: An International Journal of Marine Sciences, 2022
AbstractTuna fisheries have become the most important contributor to the coastal central provinces of Vietnam since it was introduced in early 1990s. However, developing effective management guidelines for yellowfin (Thunnus albacares) and bigeye (Thunnus obesus) tuna, the main target species for longline and handline fisheries, is difficult because ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

How did dams affect length-weight and length-length relationships of Capoeta razii (Cyprinidae) in Sefid River, the southern Caspian Sea basin?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aquatic Biology, 2018
Fish populations are affected by dams in terms of morphology, reproduction, migration, growth rate and etc. To examine the hypothesis; how dams can affect the length-weight and length-length relationships in cyprinids, four Capoeta razii segregated ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Biological Parameters and Biomass and Abundance Indices of Two Demersal Species, Turbot (Scophthalmus maximus) and Thornback Ray (Raja clavata), Estimated by a Trawl Survey in Western Black Sea

open access: yesFishes, 2023
In this study, we determined the biological characteristics and indices of abundance and biomass of two demersal species, turbot and thornback ray, through a scientific trawl survey of Bulgarian Black Sea waters in the autumn of 2020. Turbot is among the
