TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Time Series Analysis of Emergency Department Length of Stay per 8-Hour Shift

open access: yesWestern Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2012
Introduction: The mean emergency department (ED) length of stay (LOS) is considered a measure ofcrowding. This paper measures the association between LOS and factors that potentially contribute toLOS measured over consecutive shifts in the ED: shift 1 (7:

Length-of-stay in relation to number of mental comorbidities with outliers.

open access: yes, 2023
μ: mean length-of-stay, plotted as diamonds; ci: 95% confidence interval, also shown by error bars; N: number of cases. The number of mental comorbidities on the x-axis is displayed up to 5, as the number of cases with 6 or 7 mental comorbidities is less

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Average Length of Stay in Hospitals

open access: yesJournal of UOEH, 1984
The average length of stay is essentially an important and appropriate index for hospital bed administration. However, from the position that it is not necessarily an appropriate index in Japan, an analysis is made of the difference in the health care facility system between the United States and Japan.
