The Lens and Vitreous [PDF]

open access: possibleArchives of Ophthalmology, 1960
A new method is described for extracting intumescent cataracts by means of a pencilshaped metal instrument called the cryoextractor. The small, rounded, copper tip of the instrument is so refrigerated that when it is applied to the exposed lens superi¬ orly, the capsule and underlying cortex freeze and adhere to the cryoextractor.

The Lens and Vitreous [PDF]

open access: possibleArchives of Ophthalmology, 1966
ers. Zimmerman and Font85·110'117·184 have reviewed several congenital ocular syndromes that include the characteristic ophthalmic pathology of these malformations. Among these are the retinal dysplasia and the 13-15 trisomy syndromes characterized by (1) bi.teral congenital malformation of the eyes; 2) malformation of the brain, heart, and other ...

Replacing a thin lens by a thick lens

Applied Optics, 2020
This paper deals with the problem of replacing a thin lens by a thick lens with approximately the same properties as the thin lens. Equations enabling the calculation of the parameters of a thick lens that has the same focal length and the same value for one of the Seidel aberration coefficients (either the Seidel aberration coefficient of spherical ...

The Lens Capsule and the Intraocular Lens-the ‘Moustache Lens’

European Journal of Implant and Refractive Surgery, 1989
The use of the capsular bag for fixation of intraocular lenses is described. In routine cases, the ‘moustache principle’ of lenses is easy, safe and guaranteed. The envelope technique, or intercapsular surgery, is described. In traumatic cases, the two-plane two-loop or four-loop lenses are advised as an adequate alternative.

Micro lens-on-lens array

Soft Matter, 2012
Four different types of micro lens-on-lens array structures, one of which corresponds to an array of a compound eye lens, were fabricated on a commercial plastic film using a novel fabrication technique. All lens-on-lens structures were fabricated not as an isolated lens but as an array on a transparent plastic film on a large scale.
