Parametric lens

Optics Letters, 1993
A self-focusing is observed that arises from a purely second-order nonlinear susceptibility in a phase-matched second-harmonic-generation experiment. Control of the magnitude and sign of the intensity-dependent phase shift is accomplished through a dispersion external to the nonlinear medium.

Lens Refilling

Der Ophthalmologe, 2010
Cataract surgery has developed into a very safe and highly reproducible procedure but the ultimate goal to also restore physiological accommodation has not yet been achieved. A variety of accommodative intraocular lenses (IOLs) and surgical techniques have been suggested to cure presbyopia but all showed only poor accommodative effects by objective ...

Micro lens-on-lens array

Soft Matter, 2012
Four different types of micro lens-on-lens array structures, one of which corresponds to an array of a compound eye lens, were fabricated on a commercial plastic film using a novel fabrication technique. All lens-on-lens structures were fabricated not as an isolated lens but as an array on a transparent plastic film on a large scale.

Lens lipids

Current Eye Research, 1984
Lens cells can synthesize, degrade, and remodel lipids. Endogenous lipid synthesis, in conjunction with uptake of exogenous cholesterol and certain fatty acids, leads to the formation of a plasma membrane that is especially rich in sphingomyelin, cholesterol, and long-chain saturated fatty acids.

Dropped Lens Fragment, Dislocated Intraocular Lens

2014
Management of posteriorly dislocated crystalline lens has traditionally been performed with a standard 20-gauge vitrectomy system. The latest surgical platforms integrate multiple devices into single systems and feature advanced fluidics, vitreous cutting technology, and intraocular pressure control along with continued improvements in small-gauge ...

Panoramic lens

Applied Optics, 1994
An infrared panoramic lens system that utilizes two lens groups to project a full 3600 cylindrical field of view onto a two-dimensional annular format is described. Each lens group has its well-defined role. The first group is a lens block that converts a cylindrical field of view into a two-dimensional annular format located within the lens itself ...

The Lens

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1975
The subjects to be reviewed are as follows: (1) Anatomy, histology, and pathology. (2) Genetic and congenital anomalies. (3) Cataract. (Under cataract we shall consider the following: incidence and prevention of blindness from cataract; formation of an experimental production of cataract; cataract related to ocular and systemic disease; cataract ...

Lens Development: Fiber Elongation and Lens Orientation

Science, 1963
When the lens of the 5-day chick embryo is surgically reversed so that its epithelium faces the neural retina the elongation of those lens cells which have already differentiated is arrested and the epithelial cells differentiate into a new set of lens fibers.
