Bioinorganic Markers of a Loss of the Crystalline Lens Capsule Barrier Properties and Consequent Age-Related Cataract Development

Doklady Biological Sciences, 2019
The age-related cataract development consequent upon a loss of the lens capsule barrier properties proved to be associated with accumulation of sodium, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. For the first time the use of spatial cluster and correlation analyses showed that the physical light scattering in the crystalline lens volume depends on changes in ...

[Extraction of the crystalline lens in severe myopia and observations on the opacification of the capsule].

Bulletin de la Societe belge d'ophtalmologie, 1992
Twenty-five extractions of clear lenses in high myopia were performed. Prevention of retinal detachment consisted in preoperatory laser and in avoiding secondary posterior capsulotomy.

Concerning a Membrane, Between the Vitreous and the Anterior Chamber, Seen After Removal of the Crystalline Lens and Its Capsule

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1932
Removal of the crystalline lens allows a thin homogeneous membrane to be seen between vitreous and aqueous. It is separated from the vitreous by an optically clear space, and seems to extend as a hyaloid membrane over the entire front of the vitreous. Read before the American Ophthalmological Society, June, 1931. 1930 Chesnut street.
