Early oxidation‐related changes in aqueous humor following eye exposure to ultraviolet‐A radiation

Photochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
UVA exposure induces early oxidative alterations in the aqueous humor, disrupting its antioxidant balance. Levels of ascorbic acid, reduced glutathione (GSH), and the GSH/GSSG ratio decrease, while oxidized glutathione (GSSG), S‐glutathionylated proteins (PSSG), and malondialdehyde (MDA), a lipid peroxidation by‐product, increase.
