Dynamic beam shut-off algorithm for LEO satellite constellation [PDF]
Aiming at the problems of the relatively dense coverage of the satellites in the space segment of the low earth orbit (LEO) multibeam satellite constellation network, which resulted in relatively dense areas in some regions, causing severe inter-beam ...

Characterization of Mega-Constellation Links for LEO Missions With Applications to EO and ISS Use Cases [PDF]
Satellite missions demand ever greater connectivity, especially in the LEO regime. In this paper, we introduce the new mega-constellation services in space paradigm: we show that mega-constellations, deployed to offer innovative services to Earth’ ...

GaliLEO: A Simulation Tool for LEO Satellite Constellations [PDF]
The authors present GaliLEO, a simulator for the transmission of connection-oriented traffic over a constellation of LEO/MEO (low/medium earth orbit) satellites. Its scope is limited to the satellites and the stations accessing them, without any modelling of the terrestrial network, but inside this scope the goal is to study the performance of ...

Satellite-enabled LTE systems in LEO constellations [PDF]
LTE-based satellite systems in LEO constellations are a promising solution for extending broadband coverage to areas not connected to a terrestrial infrastructure. However, the large delays and Doppler shifts over the satellite channel pose severe technical challenges to a traditional LTE system.

Modelica-Based Modeling on LEO Satellite Constellation
The new generation of LEO (Low Earth Orbit) communication satellite constellations have the advantages of low latency, strong signals, and global coverage. In order to achieve global coverage, the LEO satellite constellations are often very large, with a

Physical Layer Authentication for LEO Satellite Constellations
Physical layer authentication (PLA) is the process of claiming identity of a node based on its physical layer characteristics such as channel fading or hardware imperfections. In this work, we propose a novel PLA method for the inter-satellite communication links (ISLs) of the LEO satellites.

Developing and experimenting with LEO satellite constellations in OMNeT++
In this paper, we present our work in designing and implementing a LEO satellite constellation simulation model1 within OMNeT++ and INET, which is validated by comparing the results with existing work. Our model builds upon the fundamentals of the Open Source Satellite Simulator (OS$^3$), which was ported to INET 4.3.
