We show that on a closed Riemannian manifold with fundamental group isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}$, other than the circle, every isometry that is homotopic to the identity possesses infinitely many invariant geodesics.

Thermomechanics of Picoliter Liquids Encapsulated in Metal Microarchitectures

Picoliter‐scale water is encapsulated inside hollow copper microcylinders through a single‐step localized electrodeposition process. Mechanical testing at room and cryogenic temperatures reveals that incompressible liquid and load‐bearing microscale ice enhance the strength and deformation behavior of the composite structure.

Thermoelectric Properties of a Family of Benzodifuranone‐Based Conjugated Copolymers in Oriented Thin Films Doped Sequentially With NDMBI‐H

Combining high polymer orientation of n‐type copolymers by temperature rubbing and sequential doping with N‐DMBI results in a strong improvement of electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power factors reaching up to 9.8 ± 1.6 S cm−1 and 8 ± 3 µW m−1.K2, respectively.
