A Statistical Perspective on Transformers for Small Longitudinal Cohort Data

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 23-24, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Modeling of longitudinal cohort data typically involves complex temporal dependencies between multiple variables. There, the transformer architecture, which has been highly successful in language and vision applications, allows us to account for the fact that the most recently observed time points in an individual's history may not always be ...

Coping‐Related Insight as a Mechanism of Resilience Capacity Development in Emerging Adulthood: A Registered Report

open access: yesStress and Health, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The Systematic Self‐Reflection Model of Resilience Strengthening (Crane, Searle, et al., 2019) proposes that coping self‐reflection on everyday stressors can generate coping‐related insights that refine modifiable capacities for resilience (e.g., coping beliefs, coping adjustment, and coping‐enabling resources), thereby increasing the ...

Cooperative Solvent‐Thermal Interactions Enable Multi‐Material Nanotransfer Printing for Multi‐Dimensional Molecular Profiling

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 55, 1 October 2026.
Cooperative solvent‐thermal nanotransfer printing (ST‐nTP) exploits the synergistic interplay between solvent‐induced polymer swelling and thermal‐pressure‐driven densification to achieve selective material transfer, enabling scalable single‐step fabrication of 3D hierarchical multi‐material nanoarchitectures with sub‐20 nm resolution for tunable ...

Mask roughness induced LER: a rule of thumb -- paper

open access: yes, 2010
Much work has already been done on how both the resist and line-edge roughness (LER) on the mask affect the final printed LER. What is poorly understood, however, is the extent to which system-level effects such as mask surface roughness, illumination ...

Hay Fever Symptom Burden From Grass Pollen: Implications for Public Health Warning Thresholds

open access: yesGeoHealth, Volume 10, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract This study quantifies the lagged association between grass pollen exposure and the onset of allergic rhinitis (AR) symptoms, including differences between asthmatic and non‐asthmatic subgroups. Data included 114,834 self‐reported AR symptoms collected from 25,194 uniquely identified users of a smartphone application.

Mitochondrial Transplantation Rejuvenates Aging Heart by Restoring Mitophagy Flux via the HIF‐3α‐BNIP3 Axis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 10, October 2026.
Aging heart shows mitophagy flux congestion and mitochondrial dysfunction. Aberrant activation of the HIF‐3α‐BNIP3 axis induces mitophagy flux congestion in the aging heart. Mitochondrial transplantation rectifies the HIF‐3α‐BNIP3 axis and restores mitophagy flux by elevating ATP production in the aging heart.
