Auto‐Downregulation of the Florigen FT Production Prevents Precocious Flowering in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 55, 5 October 2026.
This study shows that the leaf vein‐expressed FD complexes with the florigen FT to bind DNA motifs in FT promoter, which antagonizes CONSTANS‐mediated FT activation to feedback down‐regulate FT expression. This prevents an excessive induction of FT expression by inductive photoperiods, thereby precluding precocious transition to flowering in ...

FAM134B Restricts African Swine Fever Virus Capsid Assembly via Reticulophagy and Its Antiviral Activity is Antagonized by the Viral Virulence‐Associated Factor pMGF300‐2R

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 58, 19 October 2026.
ABSTRACT African swine fever (ASF), caused by African swine fever virus (ASFV), is a devastating viral disease in domestic pigs and wild boar. ASFV is a large DNA virus whose capsid assembly takes place within perinuclear viral factories (VFs). Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that reticulophagy confers antiviral activity against multiple RNA ...

Visibility Is Also a Form of Scientific Inequality

open access: yesThe Bulletin of the Ecological Society of America, Volume 107, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract Recognition in science signals authority and helps determine which knowledge informs research agendas, funding decisions, and career trajectories. However, media coverage of awards often amplifies senior male scientists while marginalizing early‐career and female researchers, even when they receive the same distinctions.

Lysosomal protein transmembrane 5 protects against myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury by promoting mitophagy via the NEDD4‐LC3 axis

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2026.
LAPTM5 protects the heart from ischemia/reperfusion injury by promoting mitophagy and preserving mitochondrial homeostasis. Mechanistically, LAPTM5 recruits NEDD4 through its PY3 motif, facilitates NEDD4–LC3 complex formation, and promotes NEDD4‐dependent p62 ubiquitination to support mitochondrial clearance.

Posttranslational Modifications of p62/SQSTM1 in Health and Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Schematic illustration of p62 as a posttranslational modifications (PTMs)‐programmed integrator in homeostasis, pathogenesis, and therapeutic targeting. (Left) Homeostasis: In physiological states, p62, through various PTMs such as phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and acetylation, coordinates essential cellular functions.

Rethinking Public Administration Reform: Institutional Layering of Bureaucratic, Managerial and Community Logics Over Time in Nigeria's Tax Administration

open access: yesPublic Administration and Development, Volume 46, Issue 4, Page 523-539, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The reform of public institutions has attracted sustained attention in both scholarship and policymaking. Increasingly, however, there is growing recognition that reforms are rarely implemented in an institutional vacuum. Instead, new reforms are layered onto existing arrangements, producing hybrid institutional landscapes shaped by prior ...
