Can we detect X/M/C-class solar flares from global navigation satellite system data?

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Based on the total electron content (TEC) data from global navigation satellite system (GNSS), we analyzed 224 classified solar flares (SFs) occurred in 2014–2017. We suggest an algorithm for SF automatic detection.

Concerning the Lower Atmosphere Responses to Magnetospheric Storms and Substorms

open access: yesInternational Journal of Atmospheric Sciences, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
The issue of existence and physical mechanism for solar‐terrestrial couplings has rather a long history. Investigations into the solar activity effect on meteorological processes in the lower atmosphere have become especially topical recently. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of geomagnetic activity on meteorological processes in the ...

Economic Assessment of Russian Nuclear Strategies on the Basis of Fast Breeder Reactors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nuclear Energy, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
The paper assesses the economic risk caused by the delay in commissioning innovative nuclear power plants with fast breeder reactors in Russia. The risk is quantitatively measured by the excessive costs for energy development and the possibility of implementing the considered variants that differ in power consumption, technical and economic indices of ...
