Efgartigimod Combined With Steroid Treatment for HAM/TSP: A Case Report
ABSTRACT HTLV‐1‐associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP) is a progressive neurological disorder with limited treatment options. We report a 54‐year‐old female with decade‐long, progressive HAM/TSP, previously refractory to rituximab, who experienced worsening spastic paraparesis and neurogenic bladder dysfunction.

Female Scent Signals Enhances Male Resistance to Influenza [PDF]
Scent of receptive females as signal to reproduction stimulate male mice to olfactory search of a potential breeding partner^1, 2^. This searching behavior is coupled with infection risk due to bacterial contamination of the fecal and urine scent marks^4^

Leukocytes in tubulointerstitial inflammation [PDF]
The work of Lange-Sperandio et al in this issue explores the differential role of beta2 integrins in promoting the macrophage infiltration characteristic of the obstructed kidneys of neonatal mice. Future work is needed to define factors that regulate macrophage death within or emigration from the kidney as well as to explore strategies to modulate ...

Cytokine, Chemokine, and Neurofilament Light Chain Signatures in LGI1 Autoimmune Encephalitis
ABSTRACT Objectives To investigate the value of cytokine, chemokine, and neurofilament light chain (NfL) concentrations in predicting relapse risk, chronic epilepsy, and functional impairment in LGI1 autoimmune encephalitis (AE). Methods Cytokines/chemokines (IL‐1‐beta, IL‐2, IL‐4, IL‐5, IL‐6, IL‐8/CXCL8, IL‐10, IL‐12p70, IL‐13, IL‐17A, GM‐CSF, TNF ...

The novelty of this study showed that the injection of exosomes produced from ADMSCs in combination with Roflumilast poses a more favorable therapeutic outcome for CKD induced by Adriamycin, compared to therapy with exosomes or Roflumilast alone. Roflumilast and exosomes treatment lowered the expression of the apoptotic, fibrotic, and inflammatory ...

This study investigates the photosensitizing potential of Passiflora cincinnata in Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy (aPDT) against skin infection caused by Methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in a senescent murine model. The P. cincinnata exhibits antimicrobial activity, with reduced bacterial load, lower leukocyte infiltration, and ...

The effects of stress on the enzymes of peripheral leukocytes [PDF]
Previous work showed an early response of rabbit and human leukocyte enzymes to the stress of bacterial infection. Since these represented a mixed population of leukocytes and since polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) increased in these preparations, it ...
