Selection for leukocyte counts in mice

open access: yesGenetical Research, 1966
By directional selection for total leukocyte counts from a hybrid mouse stock we have gradually established two lines of mice, LLC (Low Leukocyte Count) and HLC (High Leukocyte Count), which differ both in total and in differential leukocyte counts. A randombred line (RLC) is also being concurrently maintained.

The impact of platelet indices on clinical outcome in heart failure: results from the MyoVasc study

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, 2021
Aims Platelet indices have been associated with traditional cardiovascular risk factors, cardiovascular diseases and all‐cause mortality. This study aimed to investigate the role of platelet count, mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet‐to‐leukocyte ...

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LEUKOCYTE COUNT WITH TUBERCULOSIS (TB) LESION AREA IN CHEST X-RAY EXAMINATION

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan
Leukocyte count is one of the hematological parameters known to help diagnose organ damage and serve as an indicator of the body's immune system. Leukocyte counts are associated with the extent of lesions in the lung fields of tuberculosis patients on ...

Relationship between high leukocyte count and cell size in childhood acute myeloblastic leukemia

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Pediatrics, 1999
In order to determine the significance of cell size together with high leukocyte count (>30x10(9)/L) in acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML), we evaluated the percentages of small, medium and large cells in 33 children with AML.

A NEW DIFFERENTIAL LEUKOCYTE COUNT CHART [PDF]

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1913
In the earlier days of hematology it was supposed that the leukocyte count was a quite reliable guide to the extent, progress and severity of various infections. It was shortly recognized, however, that other factors entered into the problem and that the degree of leukocytosis was more of an index of the amount of resistance, the fighting force ...
