Glucocortinoid receptors on mononuclear leukocytes in Alzheimer's disease [PDF]
Several lines of evidence suggest disturbances of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) system in Alzheimer's disease (AD). In an exploration of the potential role of the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) in AD, GR density and affinity were assessed on mononuclear leukocytes of 12 AD patients and 12 healthy controls.

Mineralocorticoid effector mechanism in human mononuclear leukocytes
Mineralocorticoid receptors and mineralocorticoid effector mechanism were determined in mononuclear leukocytes (MNL) from normal subjects. The hierarchy of affinities of competitors for the receptor was similar to that described in other non-classical target tissues for aldosterone.

Cryopreservation of Bovine Mononuclear Leukocytes
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1979SUMMARY A technique of cryopreservation of bovine mononuclear leukocytes for use in lymphocyte stimulation tests and cell identification studies has been developed. Dimethyl sulfoxide was used as the cryopreservation agent. Cells were frozen to —40 C at a controlled rate of —1 C/minute and then to —80 C at a rate of —4 C/minute, and were subsequently ...
