Alcohol, Clinical and Experimental Research, Volume 50, Issue 8, August 2026.Using Mendelian randomization, we show that alcohol intake frequency increases oropharyngeal cancer risk independently of socioeconomic status, while the apparent protective effect of drinking with meals is explained by higher household income. Drinks per week independently increase stomatitis risk.
