Mechanisms of Aristolochic Acid Resistance in Specialist Butterflies and Evolutionary Insights for Potential Protective Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
The study provides an extreme example of insect adaptation to highly toxic defenses of host plants, and investigates the complex strategies to resist carcinogenic aristolochic acids, including physical isolation, metabolic detoxification, and DNA repair.

Association of Eosinophil Counts and Ratios With Clinical Outcomes After Acute Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study demonstrates for the first time that low peripheral eosinophil levels are independent predictors of adverse 5‐year outcomes in ischemic stroke or TIA patients, providing a novel basis for risk stratification and future mechanistic research.

Associations Between Different Eosinophil Activity Markers and Clinical Outcomes in Young Asthmatics

open access: yesClinical and Translational Allergy, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Identifying biomarkers for different aspects of asthma morbidity is crucial for effective disease monitoring and management. The performance of fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO), blood eosinophil count (BEC), and eosinophil activity markers should be evaluated. Objective This study aimed to compare the associations of FeNO, BEC,
