Autoimmune thyroiditis during leuprolide acetate treatment
The Journal of Pediatrics, 2004Autoimmune thyroiditis developed in a 9-year-old girl with precocious puberty approximately 8 months after initiation of Leuprolide acetate therapy. In addition, gonadotropin concentrations as measured by radioimmunoassay appeared high. Treatment with levothyroxine, in addition to continued Leuprolide acetate treatment, resolved gonadotropin elevation ...

Leuprolide acetate treatment of catamenial pneumothorax
Fertility and Sterility, 1994A 35-year-old nulligravid female with a 20 pack year history of smoking and continuous OC use since age 16 presented with recurrent pneumothoraces coinciding with the onset of menses at age 28. At that time she underwent a right partial pleurectomy and lobectomy, which demonstrated bullous disease but no glandular or stromal elements.

ABORTED LEIOMYOSARCOMA AFTER TREATMENT WITH LEUPROLIDE ACETATE
Obstetrics & Gynecology, 1998Leuprolide acetate has been used to decrease uterine size and shrink leiomyomata. In carefully selected patients, its treatment benefits are well recognized. However, if leuprolide acetate is inadvertently given to a patient with an unsuspected leiomyosarcoma, complications may occur.A patient presumed to have leiomyomata was treated with monthly ...

Depot Leuprolide Acetate Dosage for Sexual Precocity*
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1991Twenty-one children with early puberty have been evaluated to determine adequate dosage of depot leuprolide acetate. The minimal dosage of depot leuprolide acetate required, using intervals of 1.5 mg or less when given every 28 days, was determined. This dosage, as determined by suppression of gonadotropin responses to GnRH stimulation, was 4.14 +/- 1 ...

Leuprolide acetate treatment and myoma arterial size
Obstetrics & Gynecology, 1995To compare the size of arterial vessels in myomas from women treated with GnRH agonist (GnRH-a) or given placebo. Our study group included 46 women about to undergo myomectomy or hysterectomy; 30 were treated with leuprolide acetate (3.75 or 7.5 mg) in three monthly doses, and 16 were given placebo.

Leuprolide acetate for exhibitionism in huntington's disease
Movement Disorders, 1994AbstractWe treated a patient with Huntington's disease and exhibitionism using leuprolide acetate (Lupron Depot, TAP Pharmaceuticals), a gonadotropin‐releasing hormone agonist. The result was elimination of his deviant sexual behavior with few side effects. This regimen may be a safe and effective pharmacological treatment of the paraphilias.

Leuprolide acetate: pharmaceutical use and delivery potentials
Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, 2012Thanks to recent advances in biotechnology, the use of peptides and proteins as drugs has become a concrete clinical reality, and consequently an interesting challenge has emerged for non-parenteral drug delivery. Leuprolide is a synthetic nonapeptide agonist to the luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LH-RH) receptor with principal clinical ...

Leuprolide Acetate Suppresses Pedophilic Urges and Arousability
Archives of Sexual Behavior, 2005Cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy was compared with cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy augmented by leuprolide acetate (LA) for suppression of pedophilic behavior. Five male pedophiles (M age, 50 years; range, 36-58) were administered LA by Depo injection for 12 months, followed by saline placebo for 12 months.

Adverse effects of leuprolide acetate depot treatment
Fertility and Sterility, 1993One hundred two premenopausal women with uterine myomas were treated with LA depot. All women experienced adverse effects during GnRH-a treatment. The majority experienced symptoms attributed to a rapid and sustained decrease in circulating estrogen concentrations beginning 2 to 7 weeks after initiation of treatment.

Leuprolide acetate gonadotrophin response patterns during female puberty
Clinical Endocrinology, 2010SummaryObjective To assess normative data and the usefulness of spontaneous and LHRH analogue‐stimulated serum LH and FSH levels measured by immunoradiometric assays (IRMA) in the evaluation of normal puberty.Design Prospective. Healthy girls in Tanner I and Tanner II from the local community were invited to participate (n = 47).Methods A leuprolide
