Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Energy levels of Ho III

Physica B+C, 1976
Abstract The early analysis of Ho III has been extended, including parametric studies for complete configurations of 4f11, 4f105d, 4f106s and 4f106p, with 78 new energy levels found, including the lowest even level at 18033.4 cm−11. After optimization of real and effective parameters, the mean deviations on the energies are 32 cm−1 for 72 even levels,

Autoionizing levels in Be III [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Physics B: Atomic and Molecular Physics, 1969
Radiative transitions from autoionizing levels of Be III were observed in the far ultra-violet spectrum produced by a vacuum spark. Classification of these transitions and determination of autoionizing level energies are given. Dependence of the intensity of these transitions on discharge parameters and the importance of the dielectronic recombination ...

Core Levels of III‐V Semiconductors

physica status solidi (b), 1972
AbstractThe absorption and reflection spectra of GaP, GaAs, GaSb, InP, InAs, and InSb in the region from 15 to 40 eV are presented and compared with those obtained from characteristic electron energy losses. From these data, information about the density of conduction states, the matrix elements for transitions from the outermost core levels to the ...

Level III: Surfaces

1976
We turn now from molecules and phases to the domain of surfaces — the domain of interfacial phenomena and of colloid chemistry. When we considered molecules on Level I, we thought of them as being exposed to similar molecules on all sides; when we considered phases on Level II, we thought of them as surrounded by more of the same phase or by associated

Biological Antithrombin III Levels

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1978
To the Editor.— The MEDICAL NEWS article "Automated Test Measures Functional Antithrombin, Coagulation Enzymes" (report of Jayed Fareed, PhD, and Harry L. Mesmore, MD) confirms my observations 1 and those of others 2,3 that there is poor correlation between immunological (total) and functional antithrombin III levels in disease states.
