Level sets of the Takagi function: local level sets [PDF]
The Takagi function : [0, 1] \to [0, 1] is a continuous non-differentiable function constructed by Takagi in 1903. The level sets L(y) = {x : (x) = y} of the Takagi function (x) are studied by introducing a notion of local level set into which level sets are partitioned.

A gyrification analysis approach based on Laplace Beltrami eigenfunction level sets [PDF]
An accurate measure of the complexity of patterns of cortical folding or gyrification is necessary for understanding normal brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders.

GPU-accelerated lung CT segmentation based on level sets and texture analysis [PDF]
This paper presents a novel semi-automatic method for lung segmentation in thoracic CT datasets. The fully three-dimensional algorithm is based on a level set representation of an active surface and integrates texture features to improve its robustness ...

(α,β)-CUT of intuitionistic fuzzy normed ideals [PDF]
In this paper, the (α,β)-level sets where α and β are elements in the interval [0,1] is introduced. Several related properties for (α,β)-cut of intuitionistic fuzzy normed ideals in a normed ring (NR) will be studied and proven.

A Multi-Fidelity Framework for Wildland Fire Behavior Simulations over Complex Terrain
A method for the large-eddy simulation (LES) of wildfire spread over complex terrain is presented. In this scheme, a cut-cell immersed boundary method (CC-IBM) is used to render the complex terrain, defined by a tessellation, on a rectilinear Cartesian ...

Gaussian Mixture Model Based Probabilistic Modeling of Images for Medical Image Segmentation
In this paper, we propose a novel image segmentation algorithm that is based on the probability distributions of the object and background. It uses the variational level sets formulation with a novel region based term in addition to the edge-based term ...
