Level sets of multiple ergodic averages [PDF]
We propose to study multiple ergodic averages from multifractal analysis point of view. In some special cases in the symbolic dynamics, Hausdorff dimensions of the level sets of multiple ergodic average limit are determined by using Riesz products ...

Multipass Active Contours for an Adaptive Contour Map
Isocontour mapping is efficient for extracting meaningful information from a biomedical image in a topographic analysis. Isocontour extraction from real world medical images is difficult due to noise and other factors.

Review of Classification Methods on Unbalanced Data Sets
This paper studies the classification of unbalanced data sets. First, this kind of data sets is briefly introduced, and then the classification methods of unbalanced data sets are analyzed in detail from different perspectives such as data sampling ...

Note on the Concept of 𝜶 – Level Sets of Neutrosophic Set [PDF]
Neutrosophic set is a unique concept endowed with unconnected degree of indeterminacy excluded in the non-classical sets it generalizes. This paper communicates shortly on the notions of 𝛼 - lower level and 𝛼 - upper level sets of a neutrosophic set ...

Hierarchical Bayesian level set inversion [PDF]
The level set approach has proven widely successful in the study of inverse problems for interfaces, since its systematic development in the 1990s. Recently it has been employed in the context of Bayesian inversion, allowing for the quantification of uncertainty within the reconstruction of interfaces. However the Bayesian approach is very sensitive to

Land Surface Water Mapping Using Multi-Scale Level Sets and a Visual Saliency Model from SAR Images
Land surface water mapping is one of the most basic classification tasks to distinguish water bodies from dry land surfaces. In this paper, a water mapping method was proposed based on multi-scale level sets and a visual saliency model (MLSVS), to ...

We present a new algorithm for image segmentation - Level-set KSVD. Level-set KSVD merges the methods of sparse dictionary learning for feature extraction and variational level-set method for image segmentation. Specifically, we use a generalization of the Chan-Vese functional with features learned by KSVD.

Characteristic Picture Fuzzy Sets and Level Subsets in UP (BCC)-Algebras
The eight new concepts of picture fuzzy sets in UP (BCC)-algebras are introduced by Kankaew et al. in 2022. This idea is extended to the lower and upper level subsets of picture fuzzy sets in UP (BCC)-algebras.

High-dimensional asymptotics for percolation of Gaussian free field level sets [PDF]
We consider the Gaussian free field on $\mathbb{Z}^d$, $d$ greater or equal to $3$, and prove that the critical density for percolation of its level sets behaves like $1/d^{1 + o(1)}$ as $d$ tends to infinity.

Reconstructing phylogenetic level-1 networks from nondense binet and trinet sets [PDF]
Binets and trinets are phylogenetic networks with two and three leaves, respectively. Here we consider the problem of deciding if there exists a binary level-1 phylogenetic network displaying a given set T of binary binets or trinets over a taxon set X ...
