Dictionaries and lexicography in the AI era
This paper examines the implications of AI and machine translation on traditional lexicography, using three canonical scenarios for dictionary use: text reception, text production, and text translation as test cases.

Lexicographic Shellability of Sects
In this paper, we show that the Bruhat order on any sect of a symmetric variety of type $AIII$ is lexicographically shellable. Our proof proceeds from a description of these posets as rook placements in a partition shape which fits in a $p \times q$ rectangle. This allows us to extend an EL-labeling of the rook monoid given by Can to an arbitrary sect.

Volume Quantization with Flexible Singularities for Hexahedral Meshing
Abstract We present a novel algorithm for quantization and subsequent hexahedral mesh generation from seamless volumetric maps. Quantization is the process of choosing integers that represent the numbers of hexahedral elements to be placed in each region of the volume, and transforming the seamless map into an integer‐grid map matching that choice ...

Translating the suffix -ism in linguistics terminology from English into Arabic
English relies heavily on suffixation in deriving new words. The suffix -ism is used to form nouns in both general and specialised languages. In linguistics terminology, -ism is used to denote a range of technical concepts.

Lexicographic hyperbolic DEA [PDF]
The hyperbolic distance function (HDF) reduces all inputs and increases all outputs simultaneously and at the same rate. Although the corresponding data envelopment analysis (DEA) model is non-linear, for constant returns to scale it can be linearised and for variable returns to scale an efficient iterative approach based on the directional distance ...

DiskScissors: Cutting Arbitrary‐Topology Solids for Bijective Mapping
Abstract An algorithm for cutting solid objects in a topology‐controlled manner is presented. Concretely, given a loop on the object boundary, a disk‐topology cut surface bounded by the loop is constructed in the interior. In contrast to various previous approaches, both disk topology and conformance to the prescribed loop are ensured by construction ...

Choice by Lexicographic Semiorders [PDF]
In Tversky's (1969) model of a lexicographic semiorder, a preference is generated via the sequential application of numerical criteria by declaring an alternative x better than an alternative y if the first criterion that distinguishes between x and y ranks x higher than y by an amount exceeding a fixed threshold.
