LH Response to LH-RH Neonatally Estrogenized Male Rats
Andrologia, 2009The LH response to 100 or 1000 ng of LH-RH was studied in adult male rats treated neonatally with 500 micrograms of estradiol benzoate or olive oil. The dose of 100 ng elicited the same LH increase in both groups, but the estrogenized animals responded more when 1000 ng of LH-RH was injected.

LH-releasing activity of potent LH-RH analogs in vitro
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1975Luteinizing hormone (LH)-releasing activity of 8 potent LH-releasing hormone (RH) analogs was investigated in primary cultures of anterior pituitary cells. Introduction of the C-terminal ethylamide modification into (D-Ala 6) - LH-RH were 90 and 100 times more active than LH-RH respectively.

1999
In this chapter the syndrome of luteinizing hormone (LH) insensitivity or LH resistance is discussed, and the LH receptor gene mutations underlying this syndrome are described. First, an introduction is given of the physiological functions of LH and human chorion gonadotropin (hCG) during prenatal sex differentiation, puberty, and in the adult state ...

Localization of lh receptors on luteal cells with a ferritin-lh conjugate
Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 1979In order to study the distribution of LH (HCG) receptors on luteal cells ferritin was coupled to ovine LH with glutaraldehyde and purified by gel chromatography. The conjugate (FELH) competed with 125I-hCG for binding to isolated luteal membranes and stimulated a dose-dependent release of progesterone (P) from isolated luteal cells which was inhibited ...

EFFECTS OF DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE ON LH RELEASE INDUCED BY LH-RH IN MEN
Acta Endocrinologica, 1975ABSTRACT In order to determine the effect of dihydrotestosterone on the feed-back mechanism of the hypothalamo-pituitary-testis axis, nine healthy subjects were subjected to LH-RH tests before and after treatment with 5α-DHT. A double antibody radio-immunoassay technique was used to measure the concentration of LH and FSH in the plasma.

LH-RH Stimulated LH Secretion in Human Endocrine Disease
Acta Endocrinologica, 1985The application of LH-RH provides means to describe the functional state of the hypothalamo-pituitary-gonadal axis and has helped to understand the regulation of gonadotropin secretion both under normal and pathological circumstances. At present, diagnostic LH-RH application appears to be most useful in patients with delayed puberty, where a biphasic ...

Induction of LH surges by continuous infusion of LH-RH1.
Neuroendocrinology, 1976Preovulatory LH surges were measured in cannulated proestrous rats. Such LH peaks were also obtained by infusing pentobarbital-blocked animals with LH-RH for periods of up to 20 h; this suggested that the pituitary LH stores were exhausted. However, the total amount of LH secreted appeared more or less determined by the LH-RH dose, indicating that the ...
