Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Complications in discourses on near-death experiences [PDF]

open access: yesنشریه پژوهش‌های زبان‌شناسی
The purpose of this article is to find complications in Farsi discourse of Near-Death Experiences (NDE). We first examined the main categories of complications and then compared them in the stories of those who claimed to have near-death experience and ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Jurisprudential analysis of the mafia game; Emphasizing the elements of lies, deception and the nature of play [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های فقهی مسائل مستحدثه
Mafia game; Emerging and pervasive entertainment among Muslim youth. Since in this game, the approach of the mafia members is to lie and deceive the citizens of the game, the jurisprudential evidence of banning falsehood (lying as a joke) has attracted ...

Lie Semialgebras in reductive Lie algebras

open access: yesSemigroup Forum, 1990
Let L be a finite dimensional real Lie algebra. A wedge is a topologically closed set closed under addition and nonnegative scalar multiplication. A wedge W is called a semialgebra, if there is a Campbell-Hausdorff neighborhood B such that (W\(\cap B)*(W\cap B)\subseteq W\), where * denotes the Campbell-Hausdorff multiplication \(x*y=x+y+[x,y]+....\) ``

I Lie? We Lie! Why? Experimental Evidence on a Dishonesty Shift in Groups

open access: yesManagement Sciences, 2016
Unethical behavior such as dishonesty, cheating and corruption occurs frequently in organizations or groups. Recent experimental evidence suggests that there is a stronger inclination to behave immorally in groups than individually. We ask if this is the

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Splittable Lie Groups and Lie Algebras

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2000
Let us call a finite-dimensional Lie algebra \(\mathfrak g\) over a field of characteristic zero Malcev splittable if \(\operatorname {ad}{\mathfrak g}\) is splittable in the sense that for each element of \(\operatorname {ad}{\mathfrak g}\) the semisimple and nilpotent Jordan component belong to \(\operatorname {ad}{\mathfrak g}\).

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Ways to cheat the polygraph test. Countermeasures

open access: yesAnalele Ştiinţifice ale Universităţii "Al.I. Cuza" din Iaşi. Ştiinţe Juridice
The problem of discovering the truth has always been topical. As long as man transmits or receives information, he has the potential to mislead or be misled.
