Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Algebraic Properties of First Integrals for Scalar Linear Third-Order ODEs of Maximal Symmetry

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
By use of the Lie symmetry group methods we analyze the relationship between the first integrals of the simplest linear third-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and their point symmetries. It is well known that there are three classes of linear

Differential Galois Theory and Lie Symmetries [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2015
We study the interplay between the differential Galois group and the Lie algebra of infinitesimal symmetries of systems of linear differential equations. We show that some symmetries can be seen as solutions of a hierarchy of linear differential systems.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Residual Symmetry Reduction and Consistent Riccati Expansion to a Nonlinear Evolution Equation

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
The residual symmetry of a (1 + 1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation (NLEE) ut+uxxx−6u2ux+6λux=0 is obtained through Painlevé expansion. By introducing a new dependent variable, the residual symmetry is localized into Lie point symmetry in an ...

Similarity Solution for a System of Fractional-Order Coupled Nonlinear Hirota Equations with Conservation Laws

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The analysis of differential equations using Lie symmetry has been proved a very robust tool. It is also a powerful technique for reducing the order and nonlinearity of differential equations.

Finding nonlocal Lie symmetries algorithmically

open access: yesChaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2023
Here we present a new approach to compute symmetries of rational second order ordinary differential equations (rational 2ODEs). This method can compute Lie symmetries (point symmetries, dynamical symmetries and non-local symmetries) algorithmically.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.
