The Characteristics of New LiF Preparations and Sensitised LiF
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 1986Abstract The patent governing the preparation and production of lithium fluoride (LiF) awarded to the Harshaw Chemical Co. has expired. Other companies have become interested in developing additional preparations of this material. Two of these preparations include LiF:Mg,Ti manufactured by Vinten Instruments plc and high sensitivity ...

Luminescence and defect creation in LiF and LiF-Na
Russian Physics Journal, 1994The topic is the radiative and nonradiative decay of electronic excitations with the creation of radiation defects in LiF. A luminescence band with a peak at 3.45 eV is observed in the x-ray luminescence spectrum at 4.2 K; it may be assigned to the luminescence of a self-localized exciton.

Abstract The distribution and regulation of leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) and its receptor (LIFR) in human lung tissue is unknown. We recently found that LIF was immunolocalized to several cell types in human airways, and that exogenous LIF modulated neural and contractile responses of explanted airways.

Interfacial reactions at Al/LiF and LiF/Al
Applied Physics Letters, 2009High-resolution synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy was used to investigate the chemical properties of Al–LiF interfaces. An electronic state appeared at the Al/LiF interface with a binding energy 4.8 eV higher than that of the metallic Al 2p core level, but the state was hardly found to be present at the LiF/Al interface.

It is well established that steroidogenesis in the adrenal cortex is regulated by extraadrenal factors, such as ACTH and angiotensin II. However, over the last years, it has become increasingly clear that paracrine and autocrine mechanisms are also important for steroid synthesis in the adrenal gland.

Energy losses on gamma-ray quantum bremsstrahlung of relativistic electrons (250 MeV) are calculated in the article. Gamma-ray quantum bremsstrahlung energy spectrum is detected. Various interaction mechanisms between photons and ion- and electron-subsystems LiF are considered in the article: photonuclear reactions, electronpositron pairs production ...
